August 25 - 27, 2004 at Stanford University in the state-of-the-art
Teaching Center at the Science and Engineering Quad (TCSEQ)

Please join us in our 12th year for an information packed three day Symposium about the latest in High Performance Interconnects immediately following the well attended Hot Chips Symposium. Attending these back to back conferences provides a hearty balance for engineers involved in both the software and hardware arenas. IEEE Hot Interconnects brings together designers and architects of high-performance chips, software, and systems at the University and global business levels. Presentations focus on up-to-the-minute developments demonstrating leading-edge designs by engineers and researchers throughout the world. Two days of technical sessions followed by one day of tutorials will keep you on top of the latest industry and academic laboratories.

Get more this year!
Each year IEEE Hot Interconnects works very hard to bring you the best program in the best location. In addition to our venue change, we are very proud to announce two very interesting Keynotes; Stanford University Associate Professor Nick McKeown entitled
"Buffers: How we fell in love with them, and why we need a divorce" and Jonathan Turner from Washington University will speak about "Virtualizing the Net - a strategy for enabling network innovation".

In addition to our regularly scheduled Panel Discussion
following a hosted dinner on the first day of the Symposium, we have added a 2nd Panel Discussion to take place on Thursday afternoon. These controversial panel discussions encourage audience participation and give you an opportunity to get involved!

Three great Tutorials!
One full day tutorial plus 2 half day tutorials available. Choose to attend the first or second half of a full day tutorial.

Free conference parking
is again located in a campus lot on the northeast corner of Galvez and Campus drives for attendees driving onto the campus. You'll see directional signs with the HOT logo throughout campus. Take the FREE Marguerite Shuttle from the parking lot to the Science & Engineering Quad (SEQ).

A wealth of public transportation also serves the campus and surrounding area of Palo Alto, California. The weather during this event is typically gorgeous and a comfortable 80 degrees. Perfect for walking shorts and sandals!

Register online! See the guidelines here. The rules are a little different this year in that we are not accepting mail in registration. We are also only able to process Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

Volunteer. This is a great opportunity for students and will be limited to 10 individuals. Responsibilities are relatively light in exchange for conference attendance.

In addition to a hard working Program Committee, we have also been working very hard to improve the website. Feedback forms will be online as well as paper handouts. And you will be able to online order past proceedings to pick up at the registration desk during the conference!

Wireless Internet Connectivity AGAIN this year! Configurations announced via the attendee mail list and at the registration desk.

We'll see you there!
